the strength of others.
When one of our staff writers visited South Africa in 2006, the founders of a rural AIDS orphanage invited her out to tour their facility. They hoped she might use her literary talents to spread the word about their situation.
She returned to us with videos, photos, and a remarkably inspirational story about her visit to the small orphanage community and the fortitude of its founders. She also showed us a trailer for a feature length documentary about the orphanage, "Angels in the Dust," which was co-produced by Participant Productions and Dream Out Loud films. (Since we first saw the trailer, it has been released and is garnering awards and critical acclaim.)
We were substantially moved, and Boikarabelo (formerly Botshabelo Community Development Trust, Magaliesburg) found a place in our vocabulary and our thoughts. We wanted to help, and to our great excitement, Boikarabelo needed exactly what we excel at providing: a powerful online presence.
The first phase of Boikarabelo's new website and identity launched in the early summer of 2007, and our commitment to help this orphanage is stronger than ever. Phase two of the site will be bigger and better.
